Leafgreen MRV is a coming-soon monitoring, reporting and verification platform for African carbon projects. It is being built to help Nigerian and African project teams close the MRV capacity gap, automate pre-verification workflows, and keep verification value closer to the people doing the field work.
Leafgreen MRV is designed for carbon project developers, nature-based solutions teams, NGOs and consultants who need practical evidence handling, clearer reporting, and audit-ready outputs. It is built for the realities of African projects, not for generic global workflows.
Leafgreen MRV is a practical platform for monitoring, reporting and verification. It is intended to ingest remote sensing data, organise project evidence, align outputs to carbon methodology requirements, and support audit-ready reporting for African carbon projects.
Remote sensing ingestion
Bring satellite and spatial data into one workflow instead of tracking evidence across disconnected files.
Biomass estimation support
Support field and geospatial workflows that need a cleaner path from data to estimated carbon outcomes.
Methodology-aligned reporting
Create reporting outputs that match carbon project methods instead of inventing a parallel process.
Audit-ready outputs
Keep evidence organised, reviewable and easier to share with verification partners.
Why now
Why Leafgreen is building this
Africa's carbon market growth is real, but MRV capacity is still uneven. Leafgreen MRV is being built to help keep verification work local, reduce friction for project teams, and make carbon and nature-based systems easier to monitor with confidence.
Africa Carbon Markets Initiative
ACMI has set a continent-wide ambition of 300 million carbon credits annually by 2030, unlocking up to $6 billion in revenue and strengthening local market participation.
Nigeria has developed an Article 6 Carbon Market Framework and formed an intergovernmental carbon market activation committee, which makes MRV capacity more relevant for local project teams.
Leafgreen Africa already works across GIS, environmental monitoring and public-interest content in Nigeria, so the MRV roadmap grows out of practical field and data work.
Remote sensing ingestion for land-cover and change analysis.
Biomass estimation support for field and geospatial workflows.
Methodology-aligned reporting for carbon projects.
Audit-ready outputs that keep evidence organised and reviewable.
Goal at launch
Automate monitoring, reporting and pre-verification workflows for African carbon project developers so they can move from raw project evidence to cleaner review-ready outputs faster.

If you want the broader environmental and geospatial context around this product, these pages show where the MRV work fits.
MRV stands for monitoring, reporting and verification. It is the process used to track environmental activity, document results, and support trustworthy carbon and nature-based project claims.
Who is the Leafgreen MRV platform for?
It is designed for African carbon project developers, nature-based solutions teams, NGOs, consultants and partners who need practical MRV support without relying on overseas tooling or fragmented spreadsheets.
When does it launch?
The platform is currently in active development and targeted for late 2026.
What standards will it support?
The first version is planned to support methodology-aligned workflows for major carbon market frameworks such as Verra VCS and Gold Standard reporting.
